Hawaii Continued...Finally...Fun in the water

Hotel beach. We knew it wasn't a natural cove but it was still beautiful and fun to swim in.
A hotel event we attended... giant bubbles
Wading in the hotel pool

Isaac and his Grandma. He's a lot lighter in the water.
Learning to play in the sand.

Waterfalls at our hotel pool. Isaac wasn't thrilled with them. Too loud.
Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Saw some beautiful and huge tropical fish there.

Isaac preferred sitting on the towel there.

The Tan's took us to Kailua Beach

BFFs making sandcastles. The sand was so fine and soft...
And the ocean was so calm.

My best effort making a castle... :{
After all the water play Isaac got used to being wrapped up in a towel.
Isaac enjoying a swim with his Daddy. Usually he only wanted me to hold him (see below).

Hawaii Vacation Part I - The Food

We had a great vacation in Hawaii. It was special and fun since Isaac got to experience lots of new things there and spend time with his Grandma. Looking through our pictures I realize there are 2 things we did a lot of...or at least documented the most of. They are: eat good food and swim in the beach/pool.  Hope you enjoy the food pics and thanks to CB's family for taking us to all the good eats!

After a yummy dinner at a ramen house with CB's family we went to Bubbies where the have yummy mochi and ice cream. I saw a lot of people ordering this grey colored ice cream and was intrigued.  Turns out it was Oreo flavored and the best oreo ice cream I've ever had... and of course Isaac wanted to share.
Pineapple Plantation with Isaac's bbf. Nice yummy sweet pineapple and ice cream there!
The Dads took their kids on the train ride around the plantation.
CB getting sleepy
Yummy looking pineapples
I'm not sure...think they were head wrestling to see who would sit in CB's stroller??
Ahh...they worked it out :)
Shave ice from matsumoto...worth the wait!
Breakfast at Boots and Kimo. Again, worth the wait! They are known for their macadamia nut pancakes... wish I could eat some now!
Luau at our hotel. Although I wasn't too thrilled with the food the show was great.  Isaac really enjoyed watching all the dancers too.
2nd shave ice at at Waiola's. Jeffrey really likes shave ice.
bffs holding hands after our breakfast at Boots and Kimo
and then they hug :)

Summer time continued...

A few more highlights of what we've been up to this summer...It's been a special summer with family and good friends.

Taking a nice stroll with his BFF and Heidi.
First time at the beach! Seaside...beautiful but windy and a bit chilly
Heading towards the water
Abby and Isaac
Discovering sand with Nathan
Isaac was sitting in this spot for a while. Not sure if he just liked playing in the sand  or if he didn't want to stand on it to move.

Isaac's first time in the ocean.
Seaside has a cute train ride for kids. Isaac was happy to sit with Abby. Can you see Nathan in the caboose?
Ride home from Seaside. View of the back....
View up front... :) it was really quiet in the car. (Don't worry....Brian kept an eye open during this picture)
We also got celebrate CB's big 2! What a big girl! I love her big smile here.  (it was a hot day...that's why Isaac is shirtless)
Isaac's dad won the doubles match from the ECC tennis tournament. (Tennis courts in the back). But  I didn't get a championship pic. I did get a shot of Isaac and Maddie enjoying cheetos together.
Isaac's Gong Gong visited us! We enjoyed the view from Gasworks park on this beautiful day and then got to chow down on Saltlick BBQ flown in from TX after. It was soooo good!
Isaac showing his Gong Gong his BFF's blog.
Isaac's getting better at pushing those shopping carts around.
Trying out his cousins bike.
Learning to be a monkey :)
We went to someones house with a huge yard and a cool motorized jeep. Too bad we don't have a yard to get one of these :)

They also had one of these.
We got to pick some yummy blueberries. Here they are taking a break to play in the dirt.
Like mommy like son?? :) with matching bellies...just gotta get him a laptop.
Fun baking cupcakes together.
In the midst of all the fun Abby and Nathan needed to do some school work. Was surprised that Isaac sat with them the whole time coloring. Hopefully this is a good indication of things to come!

Cool 3 tiered slide. Isaac wasn't cooperating with sitting down :) but at least we got them together.
Our family
Lastly, Isaac eating a delicious mango. Found these huge juicy ones at Pikes Place.
